Genuine Polishing

Many detailers today are using "detail polishes". These are polishes that contain wax or silicone, or both. Wax and silicone are both fillers that will make your vehicle look good at first but after a few weeks, you'll see all the scratches and swirl marks reappear.

Genuine polishing is completely different. Someone who truly knows what they are doing will often compound the entire vehicle first to remove all clear coat scratches, swirl marks, and other imperfections using the correct compounding pad and compound that is free of any fillers. They will then polish the vehicle to correctly remove any compound marks that were left behind. You must use a polish that does not contain fillers otherwise you will end up with lines up and down your vehicle once the filler has worn off. Very few detailing companies do this correctly.

At Affordable Automotive Detailing in Jenison, MI, we use only 3M compounds and polishes because they do not contain fillers and the final product is a like new vehicle when we're finished.
